	Stephen Hannock has long been considered one of the foremost contemporary landscape painters. Hannock achieves incredible depth using his signature technique of built-up layers that are progressively sanded down with power tools and then rebuilt. However, his newest paintings demonstrate a growing interest in abstract properties and ultimately deny topographic references in favor of layered atmospheric renderings drawn from the artist’s imagination.
